The Clinton Township Housing Commission was built in 1968 by the Federal Government to give low income families safe, decent and sanitary housing. We are located in the Southeastern part of Michigan, also known as the Great Lakes State.
The Housing Commission is governed by the Federal Government and consists of a five person Board of Commissioners and one Executive Director and staff to handle the daily affairs. The board meets once a month to keep the Housing Commission running smoothly.
The complex has income guidelines set up by the government for admissions and occupancy. The monthly rent is based on 30% of your annual adjusted income. We have 100 units which are comprised of the following: 48 senior and 4 additional one-bedroom ranch style apartments, and 48 townhouse style offering 8 efficiency units, 12 two bedroom, 18 three bedroom, 10 four bedroom, and 4 five bedroom units.
We offer a wide variety of programs for our tenants. The Macomb County Seniors Lunch Program and Meals On Wheels operates out of our Community Center. Throughout the year we sponsor children's activities. The complex has its own lighted playground and basketball court. Our Community Center is used for our monthly meetings so the tenants can attend. Our tenants can use the complex at a low rental fee for special occasions and church activities. We also rent the Community Center out to non Housing Commission residents at a lower than market rate fee. A special price is available for churches and non-profits as well. The Clinton Township Housing Commission complex is centrally located to schools, churches, shopping, hospitals and bus lines. For the fishing fanatic, Lake Saint Clair and Metro Beach Metropark are not far away.
